He shows qualities like courage and humility because in Afghanistan, he heroically jumped through a wall of fire and risked his life to save a troop.

He shows qualities like courage and strength because of his heroic act.

He has won numerous awards and set many records during his career. In 1982, he led the Tar Heels to a national championship. He was inducted to the basketball hall of fame on September 11, 2009. He shows qualities like great strength and honor.

Stephen Hawking is a great genius and is considered one of the world's most famous physicist and cosmologist. He has studied in prestigious universities like Cambridge and Oxford. He suffered a disease called amyotrophic lateral sclerosis which severely disabled him. Still, he was able to write many books and do his research. In 2009, he was awarded Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States. He is one of my heroes because he shows perseverance.
